Journals of and Societies for Clinical Nutrition

• The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. The highest impact factor of the nutrition journals doesn't necessarily mean the best journal, but this site is pretty well-organised, if somewhat sparse. Abstracts are available as normal web pages. Full texts of articles are in pdf format (you need Adobe acrobat). This site also hosts the American Society for Nutritional Science
• The Asia Pacific Journal of Clinical Nutrition has back issues you can browse through;
• The American Journal of Gastroenterology has current topical articles and is very well designed.
• For ASPEN, try here. They also have JPEN, the Journal of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition - abstracts and some articles are available in pdf format. You can even get any JPEN article after 1992 faxed to you, for a fee.
• ISPEN
• The European Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (ESPEN). The official journal is Clinical Nutrition.
• The American Dietetic Association has a whole lot of nutritional information.
• The Food and Nutrition Information Center of the United States Department of Agriculture.
• BAPEN.

Other good sites

• The LSRO 2001 - American Society for Nutritional Sciences contains recommendations for the composition of preterm infant enteral formulas.
• The Arbor Nutrition Guide has an enormous amount of material (mainly web references, but also a fair number of articles culled from journals, etc).
• If you need a Medical Search Engine look no further than Pubmed. The interface is deceptively simple. If you take the time to read the help menus, you can find anything in the National Library of Medicine database. Searches are quick.
• The USDA Nutrient data laboratory is a mine of information, and you can download data sets containing food analyses for your own use. You can search the database online. Also look at the FNIC resource lists, which may be of some use.
• The Diet Analysis Web page.
• You can probably find something on almost anything at the CDC's vast site!

• The International Union of Nutritional Sciences is an international body which promotes international cooperation into nutrition research. It has a fair amount of information about itself, and forthcoming congresses, (including the 2005 International Congress of Nutrition in Durban, heh)!
• Mark Brownlow's science Komm has a long list of nutrition journals and the like that will probably prove useful.
• The International Network of Food Data Systems Project (INFOODS) has a fair amount of information and pointers. Take a look at the Journal of Food Composition and Analysis. You can also buy food analysis software from them.
• The FDA Center for Food Safety & Applied Nutrition has a vast amount of information, most of it irrelevant to your needs. You will get lost. The Bad Bug Book is worth a look. They have lots of stuff on food labelling.
• Netbiochem has some fairly well laid-out nutritional information together with a couple of quizzes.
• California State University has a Nutrition and food bibliography of the CSUN collection.
• If you want stuff on diabetes from the net, Rick Mendosa's page has a fair amount! Also some interesting information on the glycaemic index of various foods.
• MINT, the Institute for Postgraduate Education in Clinical Nutrition, organises nutrition courses and workshops.
• The Food Surveys Research Group has a variety of pdf files you can download to read about "what we eat in America".
• Find information on Vitamin E.
• National Institutes of Health Consensus Statements.
• Cyberdiet has some nutritional recommendations.
